Today I did some extreme couponing at Walgreen's! I bought all of these products and only paid $21.09 out of pocket. I am so excited about all my deals I decided to blog about it and show you all (if there is actually anyone out there listening!) how I did it. I will take you step by step and each transaction. Yes I said each transaction because I had to make 5 different ones. Let's begin!
First transaction: Tylenol precise cream. This product was on sale for $5.99. I had a 2 dollar off coupon for it so I paid $4.27 with tax. I also received a 2 dollar off register reward on my next Walgreen's purchase.
Transaction 2: Two tubes of Colgate (I paid $2.51 for one tube and went ahead and paid a little more $3.49 for the gum defense) and 1 bar of Syntha-6 which was on sale for $1.89. I had a 75 cent off coupon for the toothpaste. Now I could have done a little better with the toothpaste coupons but when I got to the store I realized a couple of my Colgate toothpaste coupons had expired. I also used my RR(register reward) for a total of $3.75 off this purchase. The best part about this transaction was the register reward coupons. I received a 4 dollar off coupon for the toothpaste and a 2 dollar off coupon for the Syntha bar. Remember I only paid 1.89 for the bar so purchasing it actually gave me an 11 cents overage. Woot!
Transaction 3: Kids Omega Smart supplements and 2 Crunch bars. I had a coupon for the crunch bars at 39 cents each and the supplements were $10. I used the 4 dollar and 2 dollars RR coupons from transaction 2 so I only paid $5.06 out of pocket for this purchase. BUT I received a 10 dollar register reward coupon for the Omega Smart supplements, getting them for free!
Transaction 4: Two big bottles of Suave Shampoo and Conditioner for $3.49 each, 2 big bottles of Suave Shampoo for kids for $3.49 each and a stick of Tom's deodorant on sale for $3.99 (regularly $5.99). I had 2 coupons for $1 off 2 Suave shampoo products and used the $10 off RR coupon from transaction 3.
For a total saving of $12 on this purchasing only paying $6.36 out of pocket. But of course giving me a $3 RR coupons for the Suave products and a $3 RR coupon for the Tom's only paying 99 cents for the Tom's deodorant!
Transaction 5: The last transaction! Walgreen's had a sale on the Chex mix 4 for $6. I also had 2, 50 cent off coupons for the Chex and a Walgreen's coupon for the Chex of a dollar off. The Blistex was buy one get one free and I had a dollar off coupon on those as well. And the Crunch bars were added in at 39 cents each for a filler item. Now let me explain what a filler item is. You see you can not have more coupons than you do products. So, if I am using 4 coupons in a single transaction then I need at least 4 products so I would add a really cheap product as a filler item.
So with coupons and register reward coupons in transaction 4. I only paid 37 cents out of pocket for this transaction! That's right 37 friggin' cents for all of this!!! And that is not all....
I also received a 2 dollar off register reward coupon for the Chex mix purchase. So I actually made $1.63 overage on this transaction! All in all, I think my morning at Walgreen's was a success. I could have done a little better with better Colgate coupons but live and learn. I hope this helps some with their coupon adventures! I will try to post more of my deals in the future. Couponing Rocks!
