Working in the blogging world you are exposed to a whole new lingo. Example, I could never have this conversation in a grocery store: "I checked GA this morning and my UMVs are way up. This is going to really help my PR." Jibberish, right? Except if you are a blogger, your response might be: "That is awesome! How is your Alexa score? I have been struggling to get mine down."
Yes, us bloggers sure have our own language and way of thinking that others just don't get. And it is not always due to lack of trying. My husband regularly tries to engage in "blogging conversation" with me, it is so cute. But for some reason, it just does not sound right when it comes from him and I can not help but laugh a little. (on the inside of course!) I appreciate the fact that he does try. Here is an example of him trying to get involved in my blog.
One morning he walks out of the bedroom with a big ole hole in his sock.
This was a double funny because he called it "Fruit a Loom" and he tried to use blogging lingo.
Bless his heart.

LOL! So true, we have blogger lingo for pitching, for couponing, WoW! We really are very fluent in a variety of languages! And yes it is very funny when the "other half" starts to repeat it!
ReplyDeleteHaha! That's funny. That's great that he tries! Most of my friends don't even try to get it.
ReplyDeleteHow funny. My husband is beginning to realize that I can pitch companies of his choice too. Blogese - I like it!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby always says that!! I don't realize I'm talking "Bloggerese" until he says something. For instance, I said "My CL said I should put alt-tags on my photos to help me with SEOs which will help my Alexa rating and Google PR score."
ReplyDeleteIt is def a world of its own! I love it though! Even my kids talk the talk sometimes lol. So, Mom, how's the hits on that article you wrote about my angry bird project? :-)
ReplyDeleteHey at least your husband recognizes a hole in his sock! Mine would wear them until they were just a ring around his leg if I didn't step in.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, so much lingo! I have to make sure I don't go overboard when talking about blogging.
Great post! WE do have our own language for sure, I try to explain some things to my hubby..and I'm surprised that he actually does get some of it! lol As far as pitching, he's always suggesting companies! lol
ReplyDeleteSo funny but true!!!!
ReplyDeleteSO funny-- my husband-to-be is the same way. I'm pretty good about the lingo with him, but I'm merciless about discussing blogging. He's the one who got me involved in the first place!
ReplyDeleteHehehe, I get the "Can you pitch ________" a lot at home too!! I find so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh that's too cute. Tell him not to feel bad, some of us bloggers don't get it either.
ReplyDeleteBB2U
Haha! Awesome.
