Today as I sat down to write my Nutrisystem weekly weigh in, I was a little bummed. You see, this week I attended a blogging conference in Baltimore. It was super fun and I definitely enjoyed myself! The problem is, I was away for 4 days and did not follow the Nutrisystem program while away. I thought it would be OK because I was attending a conference called FitBloggin, a weigh loss/fitness/healthy lifestyle conference and they were serving healthy food. Great, right? Not so much. Although they DID serve healthy options, they did not limit the amount of servings I could eat. Being on the Nutrisystem program, I love the fact that my portions and calories are laid out for me. At this point, I really depend on it. So after the conference ended, I returned home and weighed myself. I was bummed and a little ashamed, I have gained 0.5 pounds.

And then I ran across a quote that Nutrisystem posted on Pinterest, the quote read: "What this journey is really about is working toward the best you yet- so let's get back to basics and enjoy the best you." That quote hit me like a ton of bricks because instead of focusing on my accomplishments from the past three weeks, I was focusing too much on my failures. This is a journey, a weight loss journey, I am learning to live a lifestyle without gaining weight. This week was a reminder, currently I need the Nutrisystem program for continued weight loss success. I indeed have been successful, losing a total of 7 pounds in three weeks. And yes, there will be bumps in the road (maybe even huge falls) but what separates the successors from the rest is how we recover from those falls.

Lastly, I was recently asked what my favorite Nutrisystem entree was and I knew instantly! So, I decided to share it with you all today. The Citrus Barbeque Glazed Pork, it was actually the first entree I'd eaten on the Nutrisystem Program and instantly became my favorite! The flavors were incredible and had a bit of spiciness drew me in right away. I am looking forward to my next Nutrisystem order just so I can enjoy this meal once again!

ReplyDeleteI have tried that meal and it is one of my favorites, too. You have already come so far and that is fantastic. Can't wait to see your results next week.
ReplyDeleteI would not consider that a failure, you have come to far for that little bit to be a failure. Especially when you were off learning how to be better. I want to say thank you. I do not need to lose weight, but do need to get into shape. I have not run since 2005, it has been a while, I started walking a few weeks back and am now getting back to running. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your weightloss journey. Losing is much harder than gaining, I know. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks great. My husband is getting ready to start the program so I am keeping my fingers crossed he has good results in the end.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! I promise, one/two days of upping your water intake now that you are home and that .5 is gonna be gone! You are doing great! My favorite meal is the ricotta stuffed crepes. I anticipate my frozen delivery every month so I can savor that one meal first!

This past week was not a failure!! It was an opportunity to learn. You will not be on nutrisystem forever, so you learned that portion control is what you will have to focus on when not eating their pre-portioned meals.
ReplyDeleteAnd a half pound? My weight can fluctuate by two pounds in the same day! I am so proud of you for not really throwing it in and gaining five in a week- each meal and every workout is an opportunity to make new choices.
