In honor of Disney re-releasing Cinderella on Blu-Ray/DVD, Walmart had a Retailtainment Event on October 6th. We were so excited to attend, after preparing a couple of weeks before, and even invited Bella's best friend Jillian to accompany us. We found the event table located in the Toy section in Walmart but it was empty. We worried either the event ended earlier or they were on a lunch break. After waiting around for awhile, the girl started to get antsy but luckily I had the perfect idea! Why not use The Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 App in store! I already had the App downloaded but just in case someone did not, Walmart was ready with a HUGE sticker on the floor which one could scan to download the App on their smart phone!
Our first stop was to the Carriage Shop, there it told us to located and scan the cover of the diamond edition of Cinderella. This was perfect since we were planning to buy the Cinderella Blu-Ray/DVD today to view at our princess party!
It was off to the Entertainment section we went, skipping down the aisles like princesses do! The girls spotted the Cinderella movie first and I got busy scanning. HOW COOL!!!! Scanning the movie on the App turned the Carriage into 3D!
Next we entered the Princess Boutique, there it asked us to locate certain images to scan in. We quickly remember seeing these images back in the Toy section on a display, so we hurried there! After scanning those images, MORE princess dresses were unlocked and ready to wear to the ball! The girls commented on how fun the scavenger hunt was, I agree! But the fun did not stop there because it was time for our Princess party!
We had five princesses and one prince charming attend our princess party. As soon as the guests arrived, prince charming was there to greet them. They then entered through the royal gates and bounced around in the royal hop-around until all of the royal guests arrived.
And then the "real" princess festivities began! First, every girl took a seat in Cinderella's make-up chair to have their royal face made up and nails polished. Next, they were off to the magic wand station where each girl decorated their very own wand with magic fairy dust! And while the princesses were busy creating their wands, some of the moms even chose to partake in the festivities and received their very own royal manicure!
The princesses stayed busy at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Bakery with delicious cupcakes they decorated themselves! Besides the yellow, pink and blue icing for each cupcake, the princesses also added a variety of sprinkles and a Cinderella figure topped each.
To close this royal event, the princesses (and prince) sat back for a screening of Disney's Cinderella on Blu-ray. One of my favorite lines from the movie is "A dream is a wish your heart makes..." Every little girl dreams of being a princess, I was honored to be the one to make their dreams come true today.
If you are interested in checking out more of the days events, you can view my Google+ album. You can also visit Disney on Facebook and Twitter letting them know how much you enjoyed The Royal Ball Augmented Reality App and check out Cinderella's Facebook page for more inside scoop!
