How Do You Find Weight Acceptance?

I ask myself over and over, what more can I do to lose weight?  More exercise?  Eat less?  A magic pill?  Oh Pleasssse, a magic weight loss pill!  OK, I know there will never be a magic pill but I can always dream, right?  Back to reality.  Can the answer to weight loss lie in self acceptance?  This might seem a little silly and even counter productive to the whole "weight loss" idea but if I were to accept my body at the weight, size and shape it is and concentrate on being "healthy", would the excess weight naturally begin to come off?  And if this is so, HOW IN THE WORLD do I achieve this self acceptance?

Giving the Gift of Health for Father's Day

Want some Fathers Day gift ideas?  What do you want to give your dad for Father's Day?  Many of you might have a list consisting of lounge pants, top of the line gadgets or maybe a basket full of yummy treats.  What do I want to give my dad for Father's Day?  Good health.
You might question me, "Mother Smucker, how in the world can I give my dad good health?"  Easy.  Instead of lounge pants, why not give him some walking shoes and plan walks together.  Buy him that new gadget, maybe a sports watch?  And if you do want to give him a basket full of treats, you can give him a basket full of healthy treats!  The point is, you can totally give a person good health by promoting a healthy lifestyle and being a good example yourself.

Debts not Deeds

My kids always keep me on my toes, especially my little boy Z.  You never know what mood he is in on a given day or given minute.  I had even written a guest post about him and his bad language.  Well, yesterday one of his moods struck again, this time he was in a "I am right no matter what you say" type of mood.

He was reading a book and used the word "debts" instead of "deeds."

Zaggora HOTPANTS: The Results & Giveaway

If you recall last month, I began an "Inches Loss Challenge" when I received my pair of Zaggora Weight loss HOTPANTS.  And I am here today to reveal the results of the challenge. DUN DUN DUNNNNN (Drum rolls and all that jazz!)

OK, OK, before I announce the results let me first begin by telling you a little about my experience wearing the pants.  At first, I did NOT like wearing them.  I found them to be way hot (DUH!), a little itchy and they made TOO much noise when I walked.  You know the kind of noise that accentuated my thighs rubbing together.  But after the first week wearing them, they started to grow on me.  The itchiness went away (or it just did not bother me as much) and I got use to being sweaty and hot after my work outs. TMI ALERT:  I was so sweaty that even my underwear was soaked after taking off the HOTPANTS.  And believe it or not, I  got use to the annoying noise it made when I walked.  Things I did like about them?  I LOVE the fact that they were so tight and held my jiggle in place.   This feature is especially  helpful during my work outs, when the jiggling tends to increase with hopping around.

So, let us get to the results:

Greek Yogurt Banana Cream Mini Pies

My most popular post and Pinterest sensation (having THOUSANDS of repins) is the Greek Yogurt Cheesecake recipe.  There is a reason why this recipe is so popular, they are delicious! But I got to thinking about variations I could try with the recipe.  Behold, the Greek Yogurt Banana Cream Pies!  They are simply delectable and now one of my favorites.  These mini pies are great "quick" on the go snack and the slice of banana within eat pie brings out the flavors terrifically!  It is guaranteed to be one of your favorites as well.

My Worse Critic

They say "you are your own worse critic."  This may be true in a lot of cases but not in mine.  My 6 year old son can be my worse critic, you may have gotten a glimpse of it in my story Skinny Butt.  Yes, that boy can be honest to a fault and the other day, Mr Candor struck again!

One of the best perks of losing weight is fitting into clothes I haven't been able to fit into in years.  I was going through my closet and tried on a pair of pants.  They fit!  Woohoo!  Naturally, the first thing I do is check myself out in the mirror.  I give myself the approving "Dang, you look hot girl" talk and start prancing around the house showing off my new hottness to the rest of my family.

I see my hubby.

Well, of course I do... why do you think I came out sashaying around the house like this but it is sweet of him to say.  He is sweet like that and always makes positive comments about my looks, I am very lucky.

My little girl walks into the room.

Awwww, my little sweetheart calls me beautiful ALL the time.  She also uses it as a weapon when she is in trouble or when I am in a bad mood because she knows she will get a smile from me every time.

Here comes the real test.

We really need to work on his tact.
