If you haven't heard, after 7 years in the vault, Disney is re-releasing Cinderella on Blu-Ray/DVD October 2nd.  After learning about this exciting news, my little girl jumped for joy and I was a little excited as well!  So, we decided in celebration of the release, we would throw a Princess party with a screening of the movie.  Before we headed off to Walmart to prepare for the party, we first checked out The Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 App on the IPad2.

Weighing in Wednesday, Nutrisystem Week 3: The Journey Toward The Best You

Today as I sat down to write my Nutrisystem weekly weigh in, I was a little bummed.  You see, this week I attended a blogging conference in Baltimore.  It was super fun and I definitely enjoyed myself!  The problem is, I was away for 4 days and did not follow the Nutrisystem program while away.  I thought it would be OK because I was attending a conference called FitBloggin, a weigh loss/fitness/healthy lifestyle conference and they were serving healthy food.  Great, right?  Not so much.  Although they DID serve healthy options, they did not limit the amount of servings I could eat.  Being on the Nutrisystem program, I love the fact that my portions and calories are laid out for me.  At this point, I really depend on it.  So after the conference ended, I returned home and weighed myself.  I was bummed and a little ashamed, I have gained 0.5 pounds.

Rocky Mountain Popcorn Giveaway 9/25-10/05

Seriously, can you think of ANYONE who doesn't like popcorn?  I can't, it really is the universal snack.  It is light but filling, comes in all varieties of flavors and is low calorie on top of it. (that is if you don't soak butter all over it, like I use to do!)  For real, whoever is the inventor of popcorn truly does get some major props from me because I. love. it.  Just ask my husband, we are one popcorn eating household.  I love it so much that I keep a huge seal-able bowl in my living room filled with it for a quick go-to snack.

 This weekend I attended FitBloggin', a weight loss/fitness/healthy lifestyle blogging conference.  As I sit here and decompress, I wanted to share some things I've learned from attending it.  So, here goes:

Weighing In Wednesday: Nutrisystem Week 2 "I Am NOT Hungry"

I have a Fat Voice inside my head.  I've spoken of this voice before, it is the one that is constantly telling me to "Eat, Eat, Eat." even when I am not hungry.  Well, this fat voice has a sibling, a wicked, evil sibling that is constantly telling me "You are hungryyyy!" when I know I am not.  Sometimes these voices gang up while I am eating and tell me, "You are hungry!  Keep eating! You aren't full yet, just keep EATING!"  In the past I believed these voices, I would listen to them and eat, eat, eat until I was so full I could hardly move. And it was at that point that they finally quieted and I believed I was satisfied.  

It's Going To Be A Good Day, It's Going To Be A Great Week!

When I come here and write about my life, show pictures of myself in all my flabby glory or even just post a recipe or two, I forget that people actually read the stuff I ramble on about.  Sometimes, I even get a couple of readers that return to read the stuff I talk about.  And once in awhile, one of those readers might even send me an email, thanking me for sharing my story and share their own struggles with weight. It is times like these which remind me why I am here, remind me why I started blogging in the first place, remind me of why I continue to put my heart and soul into my blog, because I want to make a difference.  I want to reach out to those out there that are struggling with weight and remind them, they are not alone.  I want to give hope to those out there that have given up.  And I want to encourage all to believe in themselves because we all have the power to be the best we can be.

Thank you for your support, you encourage me to be the best me.

Sunday Funnies: Defeating My Weight Loss Success

I recently started the Nutrisystem program, I lost 6.5 pounds in the first week!  Now I know that is a very big amount to lose in a week but in all reality, it is probably mostly water weight.  However, losing that amount of weight gives the self esteem a HUGE confidence boost, and rightly so!  Losing weight is no easy task for most, this is the morning of my weigh in.

I get up and weigh myself, you see usually the scale hates me and I dread getting on it but this week I knew I was going to have an awesome read out.  I followed the plan perfectly, I exercised and it all paid off!  I was down over 6 pounds!  Whaaaaaaaat!  I am super excited!  I reweigh myself about 5 or 6 times to make sure the number I am seeing is correct and then a do a fist pump in the air with a big "YESSSS!"

Skinny Apple Pie Turnover Recipe

Apple season is in the fall.  So for me, this September and November will be prime time apple cookin' up in the Working Moms kitchen!  Apples are one of my favorite fruits to cook with, therefore I am a little antsy about starting on my apple recipes this year.  I already made cinnamon apple chips a few weeks ago and shared it with you all.  Now its time to kick it up a notch with a yummy apple dessert.   One of my guilty pleasures is an apple turnover at Mc Donald's, seriously aren't those suckers sinfully delicious.  So, I scoured the internet for some tasty apple desserts and came upon one from Dashing Dish that used egg roll wrappers, brilliant!   I adapted her recipe a bit because she used artificial sweeteners and I just didn't think it needed it, the sweetness of the apple was enough for me.  Here is my recipe:

Nutrisystem: The Next Chapter w/ Weighing In Wednesday Linky

This is a weight loss blog.  However, this summer I have gotten a little away from the "weight loss" part of this blog.  The reason being is I have gotten very far off my weight loss track.  I have majorly slacked on exercise, eating healthy and have gained weight as a result.  I am not proud of it, in fact, I have beaten myself up about it many nights and I could continue to beat myself up about it OR I can do something about it.  I choose to do something.

Skinny Chocolate Mousse Recipe: A Greek Yogurt Recipe

I am taking part in an Autumn Blogathan Challenge, this challenge kicked off today and the first topic is to write about your favorite recipe.  For me, this is a tough one to pick because I have SO many recipes that I love to make.  After thinking long and hard, I decided to choose a recipe that I make often, I also chose this recipe because it is so versatile and I make different variations of it often.  The recipe is my Greek Yogurt Cheesecake recipe.  This recipe has become a Pinterest sensation with thousands of repins and one of my top 3 most viewed blog posts.  Another variation of this recipe is my Greek Yogurt Banana Cream Mini Pies and today I am presenting you with yet another variation of the recipe!

I am not sure why it had taken me so long to try a chocolate version of this because as most of you might know... I am a chocaholic!  When the bright idea did come to me, I was in love right away!  Anyways, I know you must be ready to dig right into recipe so here it is:

My little boy is now in 2nd grade, he is getting big way too fast!  I remember his first day of Kindergarten like it was yesterday.  I remember his Kindergarten crushes, and boy did he have many of them!  There was one little girl that he had a mad crush on almost all year, he liked her so much that he changed his last name to hers and we were NOT allowed to call him by any other name.

As he entered 1st grade he started to talk a lot less about girls.  When I did ask him about it, he would just reply with a "Mom, I hang out with the guys now."  Fair enough.

This is why I was completely shocked when he came to me recently to discuss girls.
