Nutrisystem Week 11: Tips For Surviving The Holidays

It seems like yesterday when I received my first Nutrisystem food package in the mail, I can not believe I have now been on the program for 11 whole weeks!  When I began my journey as a Nutrisystem blogger, my first thought was "Oh no, I will be on Nutrisystem through the holidays.  That's the most difficult time for me!"  Seriously, every holiday season usually ends up with at least an extra 10 pounds right to the derriere!

The holiday weight gain usually begins during Halloween and lasts until a few weeks after Christmas, I just can not pass up "marked down" Christmas chocolate!  Well, this year I got through Halloween pretty unscathed and actually LOST a pound, miraculous!  However, this week was going to be the real test; it was Thanksgiving week, a day of eating, eating and MORE eating.  How will I survive this holiday?!

Little Monsters Gear Review and Giveaway

My kids are Monsters fans!  They love the movie Monsters Inc. and are always pretending to be a monster of some sort.  That is why when I saw the company Little Monsters Gear, I had to check them out!

The company was started in honor of the owners father; he had 15 children and nicknames for each.  She started creating Monster designs based off of each of her siblings nicknames and the company grew from there.  They now have 12 monsters, each with their own story and own characteristics!

Just look at the cuteness of their designs....

Aren't they simply adorable?  Also, each Monster tee comes with their own story AND stickers!  That sold my kids right there, STICKERS!  This company sure has an understanding for kids!

They also have an array of sizes!  I saw they carried onesies and smaller tees.  My son is 7 and I was a little worried they would not carry his size.  Well, rest assured they certainly did!  And he LOVES his shirt, it is amazing how fitting the shirt is.  He certainly is my DareDevil!

Besides the tees and onsies, they carry bibs, burb clothes and leg warmers!  Oh. My. Goodness!  Why did I not know about this company when my little girl was a baby.  I love seeing little babes with those cute leg warmers looking all like Flash Dance!

For many of you that are not familiar with my weight loss journey, let me fill you in a bit.  I began my journey over 10 years ago and 175 pounds heavier.  My journey began with an unsuccessful surgery, many diets, many ups and downs in weight and many weight loss programs.  My weight has been and probably will always be a constant struggle of self control, fighting bad eating patterns and making healthier choices.

It has now been 9 weeks since I began my journey on the Nutrisystem program and it is really starting to show!  My clothes are getting too big, I can feel my body changing AND I have began receiving the question "Have you lost weight?"  "Why yes, yes I have!"  This question is usually followed up with "How are you doing it?"  They always ask how.  How many of us want to know the secret to success, how many of us are struggling to lose those few (or many) pounds and just want to know HOW?  So, I begin to tell them all about the Nutrisystem program, how delicious the food is, how easy the program is and how it really does work when followed.  They seem interested and nod but as I leave the conversation, I often wonder how many of them will actually make the decision to take control of their health and BEGIN a weight loss program.

CrockPot Chickadilla Soup Recipe

It's winter time and that means two things, getting out my Crockpot and making soups!  I love my Crockpot!  I love the convenience, I love how you can throw a bunch of ingredients together and come back some hours later and it is done!  Crockpots rock!  One of my most popular recipes is a Crockpot recipe, Crockpot Creamy Chicken and Rice.

Family Movie Night With The Amazing Spider-Man and Webslinger Augmented Reality App #SpiderManWMT #CBias

On November 9th, The Amazing Spiderman is being released on Blu-ray/DVD.  As you can tell, my kids are Spider-Man fans!  My son has had a Spider-Man birthday party for two years in a row, he has dressed up as Spider-Man for Halloween two times and regularly pretends to be Spider-Man fighting crime in his room!  So, as you might expect, The Amazing Spider-Man being released on DVD is a huge event for him!  In honor of the big event, we spent last Friday night hosting a family movie night where we watched an advance copy of The Amazing Spider-Man and played with the Webslinger Augmented Reality App.
