Diet Soup: Fat Flush Soup Diet & Testimonial

Now that the holidays are over, are you looking for a healthy eating program so you can lose those extra pounds gained?  Last February, I posted the FAT FLUSH SOUP RECIPE & DIET.  Since then, not only has it become a Pinterest sensation, I have also received a number of emails from readers who have found much success on it!
One reader in particular raved on and on about the diet, so I thought I would share her success story with you all today!

Meet Peggy, A Fat Flush Soup Diet Success!

Why did you decide to try the Fat Flush Soup diet?
The first time I saw, or even heard of the fat flush soup diet was on Survival Guide by The Working Mom’s blog.  It looked real tasty but at the time I had no idea if it would work or not.  I knew I was ready to try some kind of a healthy eating program so I said why not try this soup flush diet.  I had already tried so many different diets, why not add one more to my list of failures.  Boy was I wrong!

How much weight have you lost on the diet? And in what period of time?
I have been on this diet for about 8 weeks, to date I have lost 32 lbs.  I do have to say that I was not faithful to my soup during the holiday and 4 lbs somehow found their way back to my scale.  So I have to be honest and say my total weight loss so far is 28 lbs in 8 1/2 weeks.

Did you consult your doctor beforehand?  If so, what was his opinion of the diet?
I have heart disease and take lots of meds including coumadin so I do consult my Cardiologist before I start anything.  I was very, very surprised to find out that my Doctor knew all about the fat flush soup diet, in fact he had a printed copy in his office.  It was just a little bit different but basically the same thing.  He was very glad I was going to try it out and was overjoyed with my results.

Do you follow the recipe verbatim?  If not, what other components do you remove/add to the recipe?
I follow the basic recipe only having changed a few things.  I took what I liked from Working Mom’s recipe and what I liked from my Doctor’s recipe and came up with what worked for me.  The biggest change was that I used a boneless, skinless chicken breast instead of ground turkey.  That came from my Doctor, his mind set is that even if it says all white meat ground turkey, you just never know.  With a whole chicken breast that you can cook and shred yourself, you’ll always know.  The other slight change is that my doctor said to always make sure you have the following veggies in your soup; onions, celery, canned tomatoes, carrots, green zucchini and yellow squash.  After those you can add any other vegetables you like, as long as they are non starchy veggies.  No potatoes, corn or peas.  Good addin’s are green beans, cabbage, turnips, bell peppers and jalapeno peppers.

What does your daily meals consist of?
My daily meal plan is very simple, breakfast is an egg beater omelet stuffed with veggies and skim milk cheese (note that I said skim milk and not fat free cheese, Kraft carries it and it is only 30 calories a slice; it is not rubbery at all and it melts great) and coffee.  Other days I will eat oatmeal with fresh fruit.  I make my soup in a Crock Pot early in the morning so it is ready to eat by 11am.  As suggested by my Doctor, I keep a coffee mug next to the Crock Pot and at about 11-11:30 am I start eating my soup.  I eat a mug full every hour to hour and a half, all day long.  Then around 6:30 pm I eat my last cup of soup with a 4-5 oz piece of lean protein and a green salad with olive oil or lemon and vinegar.

How is this diet different than other diets you have tried in the past?  Do you ever feel hungry or deprived?
I think this diet has worked for me and different from other diets in the past because:
1.  This time it is so simple, there is no counting calories or points to count and no need to buy special meals or go to meetings.
2.  The fact that I am eating every hour or two, I NEVER feel hungry and as my Doctor said, it keeps my metabolism burning and that means fat burning.
Also, I do not exercise very hard at all because of my heart, I take a daily walk with my min-pin dog Choppy about a half an hour a day and do my cleaning around the house.  That’s it and the weight started to come off, then BAM! the holidays hit.  But they are over and I am ready to get back in the saddle again.

Would you/have you recommended this diet to others?
I talk about the fat flush soup diet to anyone who will listen, I feel that strongly about it.  I will and do recommend it, especially if you are like me and have tried and failed on lots of other diets.  Wish me luck that I can get back on track and finish the race!

Anything else you would like to add?
I would like to thank the Working Mom for first introducing me to the Fat Flush Soup Diet and to my Doctor for telling me to “Go for it!”

Congrats on all your success Peggy!  The goal of my blog has and always will be to help, motive and inspire others on their journey to the land of weight loss.  It is achievements like yours which motivate me to spread the word and inspire me to continue MY battle with the bulge.  Keep up the awesome work!

How do you accommodate the fact that I am not home every day between those hours? Any suggestions on what to do?

I entered the soup into my online journal, just out of curiousity. The number I got was roughly 230. I say roughly because I add more cilantro, omitted the squash (it is out of season here), added extra mushrooms, double the recipe, and eat approximately 1.5 cups per serving. However, I have used this soup before as a quick fix before trips, and increased the serving size or changed the recipe around a bit. The amount of calories doesn’t seem to be as important as the actual ingredients, as each one has different properties for increasing metabolism, decreasing hunger, etc. But from personal experience, I can tell you this flush works wonders. One of the best diet book i recommend for YOU is the venus factor diet book. Good luck!
