Green Giant's Veggie Snack Chips: Healthy Snack Foods

Those certainly aren't my kids trying to sneak such an unhealthy snack. Wait! I think those are my kids tip toeing out of the kitchen with a couple of bags of chips. Nice try kids but you can't fool this mom with your mustache disguises and your stealth moves!

If your kids are anything like mine then they love them some chips but I certainly do no like to feed it to them.  I just do not feel right allowing them to ingest food with such a high content of fat and calories.  But when they come to me with those puppy dog eyes asking for chips, it is hard to deny them.  And of course, they never take me up on the offer of eating some fruits and vegetables instead.  However, I have found a solution!
Green Giant has a Giant surprise, new veggie chips!!  Not only can my kids (and myself) enjoy the delicious taste of a chip but they can also get in some veggies as well!  Green Giant, you my friends are geniuses!

The Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips

These tortilla chips were delicious!  They totally reminded me of Doritos but so much better since these are made with real vegetables, natural flavorings and 17 grams of whole grains per serving.  The best part, it also contains 0 grams of trans fat and 30% less fat compared to regular chips!

The Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips

The Green Giant Sweet Potato chips are made with REAL sweet potatoes and contain only 6 grams of fat per serving, which is 40% less fat than a regular potato chip!  The Sweet Potato variety with sea salt was my personal favorite, I loved the sweetness of the potato matched with the saltiness of the seal salt.  It was so delicious and complimented each other perfectly.

Both truly are a great tasting chip that snackers can feel good about!  And the best part about it is my kids LOVE them! I am going to have to keep a regular stock of these chips in the house and the kids won't even have to break out the mustaches for a bowl!  Although, I might not tell them so because they certainly did look extra cute sporting a mustache.

If you want to try these chips on your own, you should be able to find them in the chip aisle at your local grocery.  I even have a 85 cents off coupon!  You can also connect with them on The Green Giant Facebook page or on YouTube.  Green Giant is also sharing surprise talents on their social media pages too, so you can hop on over and join in on the fun!

  1. I love veggie chips. Food Should Taste Good and Terrachips are awesome.

But these chips are a poor substitute for the aforementioned brands. They'reterrible for you.. Look at the ingredients list. It is extremely long, especially for the zesty cheddar variety, and full of unpronounceable junk. Sunflower oil comes up before red and green peppers. Yes, they taste good but IMO not much healthier than plain Doritoes (which they taste like) or Sun Chips. I can't believe their marketing campaign.. totally unhealthy.
