A couple of weeks ago you might recall me mentioning my pants were switched to a smaller size (OR I may or may not have gained a few pounds). I first noticed this pants switcharoo (FINE, it was a weight gain!) after I returned from our vacation to New Orleans. Now if you are anything like myself getting back on the weight loss track is one of the hardest things to begin, especially after returning from a trip where I indulged in some delicious high calorie eating. I was in vacation eating detox. Another reason it is difficult to get back on the healthy eating track after returning from vacation? No time to stock up the kitchen with healthy foods! Well both of these problems were alleviated when I received a weeks worth of food to review from Diet-To-Go.
What is this Diet-To-Go?I have always said that it would be SO easy to lose weight if I were rich. I would totally hire a personal trainer to get my workout on and a personal chef to prepare me delicious, healthy foods daily. Well let me tell you, Diet-To-Go has half of that covered with it's mouth-watering, low-calorie meals that are delivered right to the doorstep. And you don't even have to be rich to receive it, it's like having an affordable gourmet chef at your disposal.
A weeks worth of meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and even condiments) were delivered frozen in vacuumed packed containers. Although the food was delivered frozen, you could totally tell that it was freshly prepared. It was so convenient to be able to grab my food and head to work. With no calorie counting, I had each days meals planned out for me and all I had to do was open the package and heat it up!
So, what about the taste?I think that it takes a lot to impress me, like REALLY impress me but I can tell you that I was so impressed by the quality and tastes of Diet-To-Go foods. I was so impressed that I wanted to share my experience with everyone I came in contact with, I think the people at work got tired of me calling them over to take a look at what I had for lunch that day. And look was all I would let them do because I wanted to keep all the delicious food for myself!
Although there was a lot of food to go around because...
Oh. My. Goodness. I felt like I ate like a king while eating Diet-To-Go foods. Seriously, I was SO stuffed after every meal and this was shocking since I just returned from vacation and was use to having my belly full. I was a bit worried about being hungry because on other diet plans I would get very hungry throughout the day. Not with Diet-To-Go, some days I had a hard time finishing all the food!
And what exactly did I eat?
Diet-To-Go has three plans you can choose from; a Traditional plan, a Vegetarian plan or a Low-Carb plan. I went with the Traditional plan for my review week and if you haven't figured it out by now, I LOVED IT! I feasted on Breakfast Pizzas, Mushroom Stratas with Turkey Sausage and Asparagus & Swiss Frittatas for Breakfast. I dined on Bistro Chicken Salad, Chicken Philly Subs and Chicken Pesto Pastas for Lunch. And I topped the day off with Barbecue Chicken, Thai Turkey Tenderloin and Macaroni & Cheese for dinner. To give you a hint on how magnificent the food is, I do not even like Mushrooms but I ate every bit of that Mushroom Strata and my plate was empty after each meal!
And the best part?? I lost 2 pounds in a week and have kept it off even two weeks after. As you can tell, I am now a devoted fan of Diet-To-Go meals and in the process of talking my husband into joining the program with me full time. I think once he tastes the food, he will be on board!
