Cauliflower & Chocolate Cake Recipe

I am forever on a mission to "sneak" healthy foods into my kids (and husbands) meals.  Well, not long ago I ran across the website Hungry Little Girl and saw this Cauliflower Poke Cake recipe and HAD to give it a try!  I know you might think the mixture of Cauliflower and Chocolate sounds weird but really what DOESN'T go with Chocolate?!?!

The results?  It was actually really good but the real test was my family.  Immediately after making the cake, I served it to my kids and they complained that it tasted "weird" and I have to admit it did have that cauliflower flavor.  If you want to get rid of the cauliflower taste then I suggest waiting a day before serving it.  I think that gave it time to let the chocolate pudding flavor sink in.  Without further ado, here is the recipe!

I Can't Believe It's A Cauliflower Cake

First Martha Stewart & Now Our President: Why Do They Want You To Ignore Bloggers?

"Ignore us" they say.  "We aren't experts" they say.  This week bloggers have taken a lot of heat by some big names in the media.  First Martha Stewart did an interview with Bloomberg News where she stated "Who are these bloggers?  They aren't trained editors at Vogue magazine... ...Bloggers create a kind of, ummm, popularity but they are not the experts."  And then yesterday our very own President held a news conference where he urged all of us to ignore bloggers.  "All of us need to stop focusing on the lobbyist, and the bloggers, and the talking heads on radio, and the professional activist who profit from conflict, and focus on what the majority of Americans sent us here to do."

What I think Martha and our President have failed to realize is...  us bloggers ARE the voice of America!

You are right Martha, we do not work for Vogue magazine, we do not spend 8 hours in a prop kitchen preparing the "perfect" meal to sell in our multimillion dollar magazine.  Most of us bloggers are every day people that have to provide a nutritious meal for our family after working an 8 hour day, being stuck in traffic for 45 minutes to arrive home to hungry kids and a messy house.  We have to cook dinner in between cleaning the house, assisting with homework, refereeing arguments and packing a lunch for the next day because mornings are even more hectic.  And guess what, we still find time to share those recipes on our blog... FOR FREE!  We are the majority and we are experts at what we do.

And to you Mr. President (and the rest of Congress), We are the voice of America so stop ignoring us!

You see Mr. President, as you and the rest of Congress sit in your cushy leather seats, behind the walls of a well secured building, collecting your six figure pay checks and making the decisions for the rest of America; the majority of Americans are struggling.  But how would you know?  You do not have to work two jobs to put food on the table for your family, do you Mr. President?  You aren't denied a raise because of the struggling economy, are you Mr. Congressman?  And if your insurance denies you a medication or medical treatment; it's no biggie because you can cover the cost yourself, can't you Mr. Cruz?  You have no idea what the majority of Americans truly have to endure.  You are not our voice.

So Mr. President rest easy tonight in the comfortable bed paid for by our hard earned tax dollars.  And may your family enjoy the warmth of the White House, built by ancestors of an America which represented it's people and secured by men which fought for our freedom.  And continue to take your own advice and "ignore" us but before you do let me remind you... by ignoring us, you are ignoring our government, our voice and our people.
