Skinny Banana Bread Recipe

 

I know some of you might hear the words “Banana Bread” and think healthy, right?  I mean of course it is healthy, it contains fruit so it MUST be a healthy and low in calorie dish.  Well, sure the banana part of the banana bread is good for you but most banana breads also contain tons of sugar, flour AND butter.  These ingredients totally take the “healthy” part out of banana bread.
 
However, don’t fret because you are on Survival Guide by The Working Moms blog and I am here to bring you those foods you LOVE but make them “skinnier” for you!  This banana bread recipe is not only skinny but it sure is yummy and satisfies that sweet tooth craving.  Enjoy!

Skinny Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients
 3 mashed bananas
1 3/4 cup oat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup hot water
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Directions
1.   Preheat the oven to 325 degrees C and prepare your bread pan with non-stick spray.
 
2.  Make your oat flour by blending (I did this in my Ninja) oats until it is a powder consistency and set aside.
 
3.  Mash your bananas and add in the wet ingredients (except for the water) to the mashed bananas.
 
4.  Fold in your flour to the wet ingredients.
 
5.  Heat water in microwave and mix in the baking soda.  Add this baking soda mixture to your batter.
 
6.  Bake bread for 45 minutes.
