What are you doing this August 8th? I hope your answer is “Going to the opening of The Hundred Foot Journey, of course!” This movie is one you will not want to miss, especially if you are a cooking fan like myself. And things just got better because The Hundred Foot Journey is running #MyHundredFootJourneySweeps for a chance to win a trip for two to the South of France. Just head on over to The Hundred Foot Journeys Facebook page, read the official rules and enter!
And in honor of the release of this delicious movie, I am sharing a couple of recipes with you all today!
Honey Fried Bananas
1 under-ripened banana (sliced)
olive oil
1 TBS honey
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 TBS water
sprinkle of cinnamon
Directions
1. Drizzle olive oil into heated pan. Place banana slices in pan and cook 1-2 minutes on each side.
2. Mix honey, water, and vanilla together. Remove banana slices from heat and immediately drizzle with the honey mixture.
3. Cool and sprinkle with cinnamon.
This recipe was adapted from Rachel Schutlz.
The Hundred Foot Journey and Chef Bal Arneson have also created this Banana Creme Brulee in honor of the movies release. Enjoy!
