Christmas is the one time of year I get to indulge and not feel guilty about it. Although I do indulge during this time, I also try to watch what I eat by making treats I love just a bit “skinnier.” One treat in particular, especially around the holidays, is fudge! I originally found an awesome fudge recipe on Dashing Dish’s blog and knew I had to try it. It was for a Peppermint Fudge Recipe, I mean come on now, nothing says “holidays” more than peppermint. Along with skinny-ing up the recipe for you, I also want to keep your wallet a bit on the fatter side; so I am sharing some tips on how to save on ingredients using Shopular App. Now behold:
Skinny Peppermint Fudge Recipe
4 oz Unsweetened Bakers Squares
4 oz SemiSweet Bakers Squares
1 TBS Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
3/4 cup Sugar Substitute
1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
1/8 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Peppermint Extract
Toppings: Andes Peppermint Crunch Thins (chopped)
1. Melt chocolate squares for 2 minutes (or until melted) in microwave.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the chocolate and mix well.
3. Line a rectangular baking dish with wax paper and pour fudge mixture into it.
4. Add chopped candy to top of fudge and push down into fudge a bit.
5. Allow fudge to cool in freezer for 30-60 minutes or in refrigerator for 2-3 hours before cutting.
Enjoy this delicious, skinny, holiday treat!
And as I stated above, along with this awesome skinny treat, I am also going to share a bit on how I saved money shopping for ingredients! Candy can become a bit expensive these days, so I try to look for deals whenever I can. I rarely have time to scan through ads looking for deals but with the hot new Shopular App, it makes saving money SO easy! Check out how to use Shopular App and follow them on social media!
