Disney provided me with an all expense paid trip to L.A. to attend the #GoodDinoEvent in exchange for my coverage. No other compensation is given and all opinions in my posts are 100% my own. Disclosure Policy.
Disney Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur opens in theaters nationwide November 25th and I had the opportunity to attend the red carpet premiere this week in LA. As you may know, this is not my first rodeo red carpet but this one was extra special because it was my birthday! I can not think of a better way to celebrate my last birthday in my 30’s, it will be one I never forget. Come re-live it with me.
It’s a long standing tradition, before any red carpet premiere one must first stop at the “Oscar steps” and take a photo. We were all looking simply gorgeous, all decked out in our red carpet attire; we had to mark the occasion with a group shot and lots of selfies! Afterwards, we headed across the street for the big event.
It is a very surreal experience to attend a red carpet premiere for a Disney movie. As we waited to step on the carpet, I look up and see Ian Ziering! In my mind I’m all like, “Oh my gosh, it’s Ian Ziering!” but I can’t be all fan girling on the carpet, I have to be cool and collected so I just casually say “Hi Ian.” He looks over and replies, “Hi Amanda, Happy Birthday!” Ha, not really. He glances over and sort of looks at me like I’m a crazy lady but whatever. I got to tell Ian Ziering “hi” on my 39th birthday at a red carpet premiere! How many other people can say that?!
The red, I mean “green” carpet was decorated perfectly for the occasion. Not only was the carpet green but trees were erected along it and it had a “river” scene. With all the excitement on the carpet, one can get lost in the crowd but you can always follow the river “home.”
We took our seats in the beautiful El Capitan Theater to watch the premiere of The Good Dinosaur. As I walked into the theater, I felt as if I was part of the magic of Hollywood. From the organ tunes that graced the theater, to the very seat I sat in, the place screamed Hollywood and to be a part of it all was truly a blessing.
The lights dimmed….
The curtains rose….
And the movie began!
No spoilers from me, you will have to wait until next week for my movie review.
When the movie ended we attended the after party, a real life Hollywood after party! It was hoppin’ with Good Dinosaur decor, delicious food & desserts, and celebrities galore! You never know who you will run in to at a Hollywood after party. I mean, you could go to the restroom and run right into Anna Paquin!
And that is exactly what happened! Well, I wouldn’t say I “ran into her”. Actually, I was washing my hands in the restroom, she walks out of the stall and stands right next to me! I couldn’t believe my eyes! I was sooooo smooth about it too. I look over and say, “You are Anna Paquin!” You know, in case she didn’t know who she was. She was so sweet, she smiled and said “Yes, that is me.” She even took a selfie with me right there in the bathroom. What a birthday, what a night!
This is awesome. Our family loves The Good Dinosaur movie and watch it every once in awhile. Now that our youngest is a toddler, he enjoys talking animals so this one will be a good one to watch with him too.
This red carpet event looked like it was a lot of fun! All of them do, but especially this one.
