The Peanuts Movie Review: Is It A Good Movie, Charlie Brown?

The much anticipated Peanuts Movie opens TODAY November 6th and I was able to catch a pre-screening of it last week!  Co-written by Charles Schulz’s son Craig and grandson Bryan, this movie will please the old fans and gain new ones.  Available to view in 3D, the new Peanuts Movie is visually appealing but the best part about it is how true it is to the original.

Life always seems complicated for good ol’ Charlie Brown (Noah Schnapp), the boy who always tries his best against seemingly impossible odds. When the Little Red-Haired Girl moves into his neighborhood, Charlie Brown finds himself completely smitten with her. Meanwhile, his best friend Snoopy embarks on an epic adventure in a fantasy world. As a World War I flying ace, the lovable beagle pursues his nemesis, the Red Baron, while also trying to win the heart of a beautiful pilot named Fifi.”
It takes us back to much simpler times; times when kids cheered for snow days and couldn’t wait to play outside, times where Charlie Brown missed footballs and fought kite-eating trees, and times when Snoopy wrote stories on a typewrite and Charlie woo’s little red heads by writing the best book report ever.  Oh, the simple times.
I was worried that in this day in age, where electronics trumps the outdoors, my kids would be lost in the nostalgia of Peanuts.  I was wrong.  They totally loved it; they laugh a ton and even clapped at the end.  The Peanuts Movie won’t let you down, it’s totally worth going to see on the big screen!  It was another great movie, Charlie Brown!
