Today is National Grilled Cheese Day and in honor of this delectable day, I have four amazing grilled cheese sandwich recipes. These recipes were featured on Great Day St. Louis by yours truly and they were such a hit, I thought I would share them with my lovely readers. The grilled cheeses range from a fun kids roll-up grilled cheese to a sweet and savory brie and chicken. Kid friendly to gourmet, my favorite! So without further ado, Check them out below!
Grilled Cheese Roll-Ups
Ingredients
White Bread
Colby Jack Cheese
Butter
Directions
Cut off the crusts of each slice of bread. Roll the bread out flat using a rolling pin. Layer thinly sliced cheese across bread and roll tight. Butter all sides of the rolled sandwich and fry in pan until brown.
Waffle Iron Blueberry Delight
Ingredients
White bread
Cream Cheese
Blueberry Jam
Fresh Blueberries
Butter
Directions
Heat waffle iron. Coat bread with cream cheese and the second piece of bread with jam. Add blueberries and combine slices of bread to make a sandwich. Butter outside of bread on both sides and place on waffle iron. Press waffle iron down and cook grilled cheese until a golden brown.
Grilled Gruyere Cheese
Ingredients
Marbled Rye Bread
Shallots
Gruyere Cheese (sliced thin)
Fresh Thyme
Butter
Directions
Saute shallots in frying pan with a scoop of butter. Layers shallots, Gruyere cheese and fresh thyme between two slices of bread. Butter outside and fry in pan until golden brown.
Grilled Chicken & Brie
Ingredients
Raisin Bread
Brie
Dijon Mustard
Shredded Chicken
Apple
Butter
Directions
Spread Dijon mustard on both slices of bread and then spread Brie. Use peeler on apple and then dice up peeled slices. Place chicken and apple pieces inside bread. Butter outside and fry in pan until golden brown.
