Spring is here! The flowers are blooming, the weather is beautiful and the strawberries are ready for strawberry picking season! So, grab the family and get outside for some healthy fun, picking strawberries at Eckert’s in Belleville. Every weekend during the month of May, Eckert’s is having a Strawberry Fesitival. Last weekend, I had the chance to get out there with the family and take part in the festivities.
We were not the only ones who heard through the grapevine strawberry patch that Eckert’s was the place to be for all your strawberry needs. Bright and early, 9AM to be exact, Eckert’s started up their tractor engines and began bringing people out to the fields to pick strawberries.
This is not the first time the family and I have partaken in the pickings of fruit at Eckert’s, we are frequent guests during apple picking season. However, this IS the first time we took part in strawberry picking season there.
Maybe it was the gorgeous plump strawberries or maybe it was the beautiful weather but, strawberry picking season is now my favorite season of the year!
And I do not think I am alone on this opinion. The kids not only loved picking strawberries but eating them too!
They weren’t the ONLY ones who enjoyed eating them!
All that strawberry picking sure worked up our appetites, good thing Eckert’s has a world famous restaurant to satisfy our hunger.
Yes, I called Eckert’s restaurant world famous because apparently everyone I know was aware of it’s delectable dishes except me! My family opted for the all you can eat chicken dinner. Being the blogger I am, I posted my lunch on social media. The chicken dinner post blew up with people raving about their chicken. After I took my first bite, I understood what the uproar was about; it was simply delicious!
And now it was time for rides, my kids favorite part!
And even feeding the animals, it was a kids paradise!
Before we left I had to check out the Eckert’s market; one of MY favorite parts!
We purchased some must have products…
And we sampled some more.
Before we packed up and headed home, we had to stop at the custard stand and purchase some sweet treats for the ride home.
We then raised our custard cups to toast Eckert’s for a wonderful day! If you are looking for a fun family event this month, I suggest taking part in Eckert’s Strawberry Festival; you can thank me later!
