Finding Dory Opens TODAY: A Movie Review

They say good things come to those who wait.  I believe GREAT things come to those who wait a really, really long time; a 13 year wait to be exact.  It’s been 13 years since we have last seen our friends Nemo (Hayden Rolence), Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Dory (Ellen DeGeneres).  However in the world of Disney/Pixar, it’s been a year since Marlin and Dory was on the quest to “Find Nemo”.  Now they are back and this time they are on a new quest in Finding Dory, in theaters TODAY!

Dory, the blue tang fish, is plagued with short term memory loss.  In some cases, watching Dory ask the same questions over and over again is humorous, but her latest dilemma is no laughing matter.  Dory has been having flashbacks and struggling with the question: What happened to her parents?  Marlin and Nemo set out with Dory in the search for her parents but this task will NOT be easy.

During the search for Dory’s parents, Marlin and Nemo become separated from Dory.  So, as Dory is searching for her parents, Marlin and Nemo are searching for Dory.  The search leads them all to the Marlin Conservatory and the voice of Sigourney Weaver.

On their journey they encounter some old friends, like Crush the coolest sea turtle you will ever meet, and some new friends.  Dory becomes very close to Hank (Ed O’Neill), an octopus on the run, who agrees to help Dory for a favor.  And one of my favorites is Becky, a half-witted sea gull who helps Nemo and Marlin search for Dory.

Will Marlin and Nemo find Dory?  Will Dory find her parents?  You have to watch the movie to see!  But I will let you in on one little secret, Finding Dory audiences WILL find the true meaning of family through this film.  In true Pixar fashion, we are given a fun, family-friendly movie with a great message that can relate to everyone.  This movie was definitely worth the wait and I can not wait to see it again!
