Season 6 of ABC’s Once Upon A Time premiere tonight, September 25th at 8|7c!
Once Upon A Time in a land far, far away (Los Angeles), a beautiful princess (me) rode her horse drawn carriage (shuttle bus) to the ball (ABC Building). While there, she was escorted to the castle tower (screening room), mingled with the nobles (fellow bloggers) and met with the rulers of the Kingdom (co-creators of Once Upon A Time).
After screening the Season 6 premiere episode of Once Upon A Time, Executive Producers and Co-Creators Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, sat down with us for a fun Q&A session. We chatted about the new season (don’t worry, this post is spoiler free), the future of the show and even the fans and social media! Have you ever wondered if your tweet and/or suggestion inspired the story line of the show? Well, we dive deep into these questions and more!

Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are super nice guys, they probably never would have thought that the idea they came up with in thier apartment back in 2012 would be the success it is today. But alas, Once Upon A Time is now on its sixth season and I for one, don’t see it ending anytime soon. The fact that my social media blew up when tweeting about the show is proof enough for me and they are very appreciative of the fans. So appreciative, did you know they are known to pay homage to some of thier fans suggestions?
On Social Media & Fans Opinions
AH : We love to hear from the fans, we love to get the feedback, and it [social media] is a relatively new phenomena that we get those real time feedback as shows are airing. But what’s hard for a lot of fans to understand, because they don’t make television for a living, is by the time you’re watching the premier we’re already talking about the back half of the season, and how we’re ending the season and all of that. It’s like that ship has sailed, in a way.
EK : When we go to Comic-Con we see the fans, and they’re dressed up, and they come up to you and they’re like, there’s someone from Brazil and someone one from North Dakota that met in a chat room and now they’re at Comic-Con hanging out, that is really inspiring to us. We love the community, we love the positivity and this was a show about hope. There are moments where a fan will come up to you and literally inspire you and that might find itself into the writing.
On Being Inspired By Fans
EK : There was a moment in New York Comic-Con where a fan told me a story about her life growing up and gave a button and we did that very scene in Heroes and Villains when a fan came up and said Regina gets a bad deal. That was a shout out to one fan and one moment where they really inspired me.
On Characters To Expect This Season
AH : Captain Nemo, Count of Monte Cristo, ah, Cinderella, Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar.
EK : We’re going to meet the Evil Stepmom from Cinderella, we’re going to meet the wicked step sisters, or evil stepsisters. We’re going to see a lot more of Archie, this year, Jiminy Cricket. We’re going to see, Elroy and the Dwarfs, our normal group of people.
On Finding Inspiration For The Characters
EK : We find them everywhere. We find them from life or TV shows. Like Walter White saying I like the life, absolutely was amazing. Michael Corleone closing the door when his wife realizes he’s gone to the other side. All these images stick in our mind. For us, Rumple was always part rock star, he was kind of this mixture of Bowie and Mick Jagger and then he’s the Godfather. So you’ve got Mick Jagger if he was a crime boss and that is kind of where we came this from. When we sat down, we always said it’s fairytales through a Bowie video, which is why you see all these little touches. We draw inspiration for the characters everywhere and in real life.
