Air Bud Entertainment is back and has brought us another family film hit, Pup Star: Better 2Gether! Now available on Digital and VOD, this new Pup Star movie brings back our favorite “Star” Pup Yorkie Tiny [Kaitlyn Maher] and you won’t believe the adventures Tiny faces now!
The film picks up where the sequel left off when Tiny won her Pup Star title and is now a national music sensation! However, not everyone is happy about this stardom, particularly Roland [Jed Rees] and Bark [George Newbern]. Together they hatch a plan to dognap Tiny and do an old switcheroo by putting Scrappy (who looks identical to Tiny) in her place. Bark wants revenge and this revenge calls for Scrappy to throw the next Pup Star competition and sink Tiny’s growing fame. The plan doesn’t go “exactly” as planned because Tiny does escape and is now on the streets where Scrappy once resided.
Now little Scrappy isn’t totally without talent herself, in fact she is an amazing rapper and can throw down some mad beats! One of my favorites scenes is after Tiny escapes from her captors and was mistaken for Scrappy at a local club. She was pulled into a very funny rap battle and totally impresses the crowd.
Some new characters are also introduced in this new film including the Disco Dog Shampoo [Mackenzie Sol] who shines on the dance floor and Kitty Purry [Madison Pettis]. Kitty Purry and her alley cats don’t play and has a few good run ins including one with Tiny and one with Roland, where the alley cats basically rip Roland to shreds!
While Tiny is off living Scrappy’s street life, Scrappy is getting use to Tiny’s rock star lifestyle and gets a taste of what it is like to have a family. While I don’t want to give away the twist ending, just know that both dogs learn many important lessons while walking in eachothers paws.
Pup Star: Better 2Gether is another great film from the Air Bud series!! Not only do I appreciate all the lessons it teaches young ones but I also love the way it pokes fun at television shows like American Idol!! There is even a pup version of Simon Cowell in the movie!! My daughter, the animal lover, keeps asking to watch the movie again. Usually, I would secretly complain but who doesn’t love dancing, singing and talking animals?! If you do, then what are you waiting for?! Go watch Pup Star: Better 2Gether NOW, you can thank me later!
