Last Month I attended the 2018 Toyota Camry Southern Road Trip where we drove from Charleston, SC to St. Augustine, FL. Our Day Two adventures began as we received a vehicle presentation of the features in the new 2018 Toyota Camry at the Wentworth Mansion. I will give a more detailed post on the features you can see in the new Camry but I have to give a shout out of one my my favorites, the cruise control! I take many a road trips to visit family down south, about a 10 hour drive. As you can imagine that drive can be a trudge, but in the vehicle sense, and I use the cruise control often. One new feature in the 2018 Toyota Camry is the cruise control option where your vehicle will automatically slow down when you come within a certain distance of the car in front of you!! No more having to stop the cruise control and resume every time to get near a car, how amazing is that? And let me tell you, I used it OFTEN when on our Southern Road Trip!
We departed the Wentworth Mansion for a Historical Boat Tour at the Charleston Maritime Center. It was an unseasonable cold day but we did not let the cold stop our fun.
The view from the water was beautiful and the tour guide had so much interesting facts about the History of Charleston. I highly recommend to check out the boat tour in Charleston, preferrably on a much warmer day! It was a great time regardless of the weather!
On our way to Savannah we stopped to check out some local ruins. It was a great opportunity to not only check out the ruins but also do a little photography session.
This was really our first chance to truly take out the new 2018 Toyota Camry on our own and I was loving it. The ride was so smoothe and the car had so many options to play with. I knew it was going to be tough to turn over those keys when we arrived in Savannah.
But when we did arrive and saw the Mansion at Forsyth Park we would be staying at, I did reluctantly give by the car. Ha! The Mansion at Forsyth Park was renovated and reopened in 2005 by Savannahian and avid art collector Richard Kessler. The walls that graced the entire property is proof of his love of art.
While the property was beautiful, I was excited for the dinner and cooking class the mansion offers for those who wish to sign up for it!
We would help prepare a true Southern meal with the talented and friendly Chef Mark Santiago.
I am telling you, if you have never done a cooking class like this before, I would say to bring up Google and search for one near you. It was a BLAST!
Not only did we have a truly amazing time but I totally learned how to make a Southern Crab Cake too.
Day Two of the Toyota Camry Southern Road Trip was such a success, stay tuned for more information on the 2018 Toyota Camry and see what we did next on our road trip!
