I attended the #InfinityWarEvent on behalf of Disney and ABC in Los Angeles 4/22-4/24. This post is part of the required content series, all opinions and experiences are my own.
Last Monday evening, I attended the red carpet world premiere in Los Angeles of Avengers: Infinity War! Check out my red carpet experience of the event.
The red carpet for the world premiere of Avengers: Infinity War was packed! In fact, the event was so packed three theaters were used that evening to show the new film to those in attendance. I’ve never seen anything like it and that is saying a lot considering I’ve attended many red carpet events during my time as an influencer. But of course it was going to be a huge event, just look at the star studded cast.
When I am invited to red carpet events, I immediately go into dress mode. I usually have an idea of the dress I want and it always fits the theme of the movie. I have to tell you, I struggled a bit with this red carpet attire. I was going back and forth with my red carpet look for weeks and then it hit me: I wanted to be a super hero! It was not easy to pull of because I did NOT want it to look ‘costume-y’ but more of a super hero chic look, I think I pulled it off.
I spoke of how packed and star studded the Avengers: Infinity War red carpet was, it was also one of the longest red carpets I’ve ever walked. While my red carpet attire was totally super hero chic and I felt adorable in it, I did not think of “comfort” when putting it together. Lets talk about my shoes for a minute, they were sparkley red and one of the highest heels I’ve ever worn on a carpet. I did pack some flats in my purse to change into after the carpet walk, so they just had to last through that walk. When our group arrive to the premiere, we had to wait in a very long line just to make our way on the carpet. This is when I realized this event was like no other I attended before. And when i saw the length of the carpet filled with props from the movie, my jaw dropped and I knew my feet were in some trouble.
The walk however was so much fun and had so many photo opportunities, I almost forgot about how uncomfortable my shoes were. Almost. Let me just say, I may or may not have had to do a quick costume change (shoe switch) half way through the carpet. I did get my gorgeous pictures in my sparkley shoes first because, priorities.
I also got some fun pictures along the way as well. Many of you know, I am not a Bucky fan. So, when I spotted his costume on the red carpet walk, I totally had to take a moment to razz him a bit. All in good fun, of course!
And when i spotted the poster of my boo thang (Black Panther) on the carpet, I blew him many kisses!
It’s a good thing I brought a spray bottle with me because when I walked by the Black Panther costume on the carpet, I had to spray myself down with a vengeance. Thinking about it now has even getten me a bit hot and bothered!
If that wasn’t enough ya’ll, I am not sure how I kept my composure during the after party when we had a moment taking a selfie together. I am sure he felt the same, hence the shocked look on his face.
Look at me, I got all caught up in my moment with Chadwick Boseman I didn’t even tell you about the after party story! It is known in the press world the exclusivity of Marvel after parties. Seriously, press is like never invited to Marvel movie after parties but Avengers: Infinity War premiere was an exception and definitely an amazing surprise! And it was everything I imagined, not only did i have my moment with Chadwick but many others.
Like running into Chris Hemsworth, AKA Thor, and getting my selfie moment with him. So many drools over that one, ya’ll!
And did Don Cheadle totally throw up some deuces when we took a selfie together? Yes, he did!
Academy award winner Jennifer Connelly was also in attendance. Can you believe it just hit me that Jennifer is Karen, the voice in Spiderman’s suit! How did I not realize this beforehand?!
It is always expected to see the cast of the film on the red carpet and attending the after parties, but when you spot someone you love from a TV show on the carpet you are plesantly surprised! And when this happens, I may get a little overly excited and yell their TV name while asking for a picture. Like when I spotted an actor from Silicon Valley on the carpet and was all like “GilFoyle!!!!” He smiled and I think was a bit humbled I wanted a photo with HIM when we are surrounded by all of the Avengers!
