Ralph Breaks The Internet Synopsis
In RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET, video-game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and best friend Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) leave the comforts of Litwak’s arcade in an attempt to save her game, Sugar Rush. Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on the citizens of the internet—the Netizens—to help navigate their way. Lending a virtual hand are Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site “BuzzzTube,” and Shank (voice of Gal Gadot), a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race, a place Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces—so much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he’s ever had.
My Thoughts On The Film
They say good things come to those who wait and this is exactly how I feel about Ralph Breaks The Internet, it was well worth the wait! The movie not only met my expectations but it exceeded them. As a fan of Wreck It Ralph, I believe hard core fans are going to love Ralph Breaks The Internet as much as they did the original, if not more. The story picks up with Ralph and Vanellope’s friendship and the bond they have grown through the years at the tiny arcade store in which they inhabit. When the arcade store plugs into the unknown world of the “internet”, game characters everywhere are told to NOT enter and the internet is taped off. But a little tape has never stopped Ralph and Vanellope before and when they were faced with the scary though of losing one of THEIR beloved games forever, the duo decide to venture into the internet to save the game from extinction.

My Favorite Scenes
As you have seen in the previous Ralph Breaks The Internet trailers, the princess scene is going to be one of the most talked about scenes from the movie. Never has all of Disney’s princesses graced the scene at the same time and interacted with eachother as they do in Ralph Breaks The Internet. While the princess scene is one of my favorite scenes in the movie, it is not my favorite. As a blogger and social media influencer, I am well aware of just how cruel the internet world can be. Vanellope and Ralph are newbies within this internet world but they have to quickly learn the lesson of the “mean” side of the internet. There is a part in the movie in which Ralph wanders into the “Comment Room” and reads comments made to him and about him. This scene hit me hard as a blogger and mother because like I wanted to protect Ralph from the harsh world of internet comments just like I try to protect my own children.
Ralph Breaks The Internet introduces some fun new characters such as Yesss (the internet maven herself) and Knowsmore (AKA the little Google guy). However, my favorite character has to be Shank, a bad a** car racer and epitome of girl power herself. Fittingly, Shank’s character is voiced by Gal Gadot who plays one of my favorite super heroes, Wonder Woman!! I find the new characters in Ralph Breaks The Internet are the perfect addition to the film and bring their own flare to making the sequel amazing!
The takeaway from Ralph Breaks The Internet that was heavy on my heart as I exited the theater was the importance of supportive friendships. There is a part in the movie where Ralph is forced with the decision to either support Vanellope in pursuing her dreams or hold her back for fear of losing her. Many can relate with this struggle and many probably have had to make this decision as some point in their lives. In my career, I’ve learned fairly early on just how much the “blogging life” can be a dog eats dog kind of world. I’ve seen fellow bloggers who will tear eachother down because of their own jealousy and insecurities. They focus too much on the success of others, instead of using it as motivation to push themselves to higher goals. They would rather spend their energy sabotaging others successes rather than working on themselves. On the flip side, I’ve also witnessed incredibly supportive men and women who always lend a helping hand, who cheer eachother on and who are truly in eachothers corner. These are the ones who continue to reach new heights. These are the people you want to surround yourself with and strive to be like. And hopefully, these are the people you call friends. I am lucky enough to call many of these uplifting individuals friends and even luckier enough to work with some of them on a daily basis.
