Dolittle Movie Review
The new Dolittle movie, starring Robert Downey Jr., opens in theaters everywhere THIS Friday January 17th! I was able to catch an early screening of the film, so of course I would bring you my own personal Dolittle Movie Review. I have been seeing so many bad reviews of this remake, with even a score as low as 15% on Rotten Tomatoes. I mean come on people, Dolittle is not going to win award or anything but it was not THAT bad! I enjoyed it and my kids enjoyed it and I would definitely see it again. Five Reasons To See Dolittle Movie
Reason 1 – See Robert Downey Jr. Attempt An Accent
The last time we saw Robert Downey Jr. on the big screen, he was suited up in his Iron Man uniform saving the world. Yes, RDJ has recently become one of the prime faces of the Avengers and Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. It is a pleasant change to see him in something completely different than his known super hero role. When one is known for a certain character, it is hard to see him as anything else on the big screen but this role in the Dolittle movie does the trick, I did not think of RDJ as Iron Man, he WAS Dolittle with the extremely bad accent and all.
Reason 2 – The Funny Quotes
I’ve shared this list of funny Dolittle movie quotes yesterday and I have to share some with you again! Some of the quotes coming from this movie, especially from the talking animals will have you rolling in your theater chair. Even the Octopus has one of my favorite lines, “snitches get stitches”. You have to go just to hear some of the hilarity coming out of these animals mouths!
Reason 3 – The Jokes Are Funny
I may be a sucker for a fart joke here or there, but you have to admit that farts are funny! Whether you are a kid or adult, some good gas humor never gets old and jokes like these throughout the movie is one of the things that really made the movie for me. When I exited the theater, the first thing I said was the Dolittle movie was surprisingly funny and it is true!
Reason 4 – The Kids Will LOVE It
This movie is really geared toward little kids and they will love it. I attended the screening with a theater full of parents who brought very young ones to see this movie and it really kept their attention. I mean, it is a movie with talking animals and fart jokes, how could the kids not love this one? The story was not too complicated, it was full of action and just one of those movies you don’t have to think too hard about and just sit back and enjoy.
Reason 5 – Prove The Haters Wrong
It really grinds my gears when I see just silly, wholesome humor receive low scores from critics who want to judge every film like it was up for an Academy Award. It is this reason why I take the Rotten Tomato critic score with a grain of salt sometimes and pay more attention to the audience score. Like I repeat many times within this article, this movie is suppose to be fun and silly, it is about talking animals for goodness sake! It is geared toward very young kids and not stuffy old men, so stop reviewing it as such. I scored this movie a 6 out of 10. It is definitely worth the watch and you will not regret spending your money to see this one. I mean, it has fart jokes ya’ll, FARTS ARE FUNNY!
