As I have mentioned before, I am back on the Weight Watchers program to try to get rid of some of this pandemic quarantine weight. It has always been one of the most successful programs for me to stick to and that is probably because I love experimenting in the kitchen and creating recipes that are not only lower calorie but also delicious. Now I am not much of a breakfast eater but I have been trying to get some fruit into my morning routine, so I decided to make a french toast with sauteed pears on top. Weight Watchers French Toasted with Sauteed Pears Recipe
I not only need a delicious recipe to stay on the diet track but I need a fast and easy one. I am not huge on breakfast recipes because I do not tend to eat breakfast regularly but I love me a sweet dish! I recently made this French Toast with Sauteed Pears, which was a light version since I am on the Weight Watchers program and it turned out amazing!
Ingredients
1 raw pear
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 large egg
1/4 cup skim milk
2 slices reduced-calorie bread
2 TBS fat-free vanilla Greek yogurt
non-stick cooking spray
Directions
Peel and slice raw pear, sprinkle with about 1/4 tsp of cinnamon over the pear once sliced. Heat over medium heat a large non stick skillet, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Sauteed the pears in the skillet, until they are nice and tender.
Whisk egg, milk and the remaining cinnamon in a bowl. Dip bread into the mixture and flip in bowl, making sure miture is soaked into both sides of the bread. Heat over medium heat a large non stick skillet, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. and add the mixture soaked bread to the skillet, flipping the bread once one side is browned and cooked thoroughly. Serve with pears and yogurt on top.
