The Little Mermaid dropped the first trailer for the film during D23 Expo 2022 last weekend. The film stars Halle Bailey, who is black, as the Disney princess Ariel. Of course, the fact that her skin color isn’t white has some folks all up in arms, whether it be because she doesn’t “look” like the original Ariel or just because they are racists. This led some people to release some funny memes because of all the outcry. As I enjoy doing, I have collected a bunch of memes that seriously cracked me up to share with you all. With so many up in arms about the new look of Ariel, and especially her skin color, it is just too easy to make fun of these people upset about it. Oh wow, it is so funny! And this is just after the first trailer was released. Just wait until we see what arises when the movie actually comes out. I was not even able to choose a favorite from this list.
