Disney’s Hocus Pocus 2 is coming to the Disney+ streaming service this month, September 30th. A new trailer for the film was released during the D23 Expo 2022, and the trailer gave audiences the first glimpse of the return of Billy Butcherson. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy did not attend the Expo, but instead appeared in a video to surprise the audience with the new trailer! Hocus Pocus 2 Brings Back Billy Butcherson – D23 Expo 2022
Hocus Pocus 2: It’s been 29 years since the 17th-century sisters have been resurrected and they are looking for revenge. It’s up to three high-school students (Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo, Lilia Buckingham) to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve. Directed by Anne Fletcher and produced by Lynn Harris, “Hocus Pocus 2” also stars Sam Richardson, Tony Hale and Hannah Waddingham.
The cast includes Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl) as Becca, Lilia Buckingham (Dirt) as Cassie, and Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories) as Izzy, three young women in present-day Salem who incite the wrath of the three witches. In the original Hocus Pocus, Billy Butcherson was poisoned and buried with his lips stitched shut. Winifred and her sisters resurrected Billy as a zombie to help retrieve their spellbook from the hands of Max, Dani, Allison, and the boy-turned-cat Thackery Binx. Billy eventually turned on the Sanderson sisters to help the children vanquish them once more.
In the Hocus Pocus 2 trailer released during the D23 Expo, Billy Butcherson is seen crawling out of his grave and proclaiming that he is a good zombie.
