Now that you have your tags for your cruising ducks and your duck tag attached, the concept is pretty simple. Cruisers buy ducks, then hide them around the ship for others to find. Sometimes, the ducks come with notes asking that their original owner be contacted or that, once found, a picture be posted in a specific Facebook group or on social media. In other cases, the ducks are emblazoned with the name of the ship and the date of the sailing, making them great souvenirs.
The game was priginally started by a young girl named Abby who hid ducks on the Carnival Breeze back in the spring of 2018, and other references can be found of people hiding other plastic creatures as far back as 2015. The fun trend spread through the cruise community and is a great way to get excited for your upcoming cruise.
These handmade tags for your toy ducks include a special message and room to add all your information for the lucky cruise passenger who finds them. Whether you keep it or hide it, searching for the cute duck is what all the fun is about!
