Big Mac Smash Tacos Recipe
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (ground turkey)
8 soft tacos small flour tortillas (corn tortillas)
8 American cheese slices
2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup thousand island dressing
1/2 cup diced white onion
2 tsp onion powder
pinch of salt
black pepper
garlic powder
pickle slices or sweet pickle relish
Directions
In a small bowl, combine ground meat, onions (or onion powder or red onion), and season beef to your liking with the seasons listed above. Divide the ground beef into equal portions and form a ball of ground beef with each. Press each of the beef patties into the small flour tortilla using your hand or a burger smasher, forming a very thin layer on the soft flour tortilla. Heat the Blackstone grill to medium-high heat and place the meat tortilla meat side down on the hot griddle for 2-3 minutes. Once the burger has cooked and browned, flip it over to the tortilla side and allow it to cook for about 30 seconds. While on the tortilla side, place a slice of American cheese or your favorite cheese, cheddar cheese (or my favorite aged havarti), and remove when you have melty cheese. Remove from the griddle and add the burger sauce, crisp lettuce, and your favorite toppings (yellow mustard, sweet relish, tangy pickles, dijon mustard, dill pickles, sour cream, hot sauce, or a tangy sauce).
