The cast of Napoleon includes Academy Award winner Joaquin Phoenix (as the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte), Vanessa Kirby (as Emperess Josephine De Beauharnais), Rupert Everett (Duke of Wellington), Ludivine Sagnier (Theresa Cabarrus), Tahar Rahim (Paul Barras), and Mark Bonnar (Junot). There are also bloody and gory death scenes that include characters blown up with cannon balls, animals blown up with cannon balls, and characters killed with other weapons such as guns and drownings. Characters take part in sexual activity; however, these scenes are not very graphic; thrusting is shown but there is no nudity. There are also sexual references and a gay relationship.
