It has been a little over 2 years since Netflix first aired The Kissing Booth and we instantly began rooting for the budding romance between Elle and Noah. Well now they are back in the sequel The Kissing Booth 2, and boy do we have a bit to catch up on. Don’t worry, within the first 5 minutes of the film Elle gives us the run down of what’s been going on in her world since our absence. Noah has gone off to attend college at Harvard, Elle is in her senior year of High School and both how vowed to make their long distance relationship work. Seems like a happily ever after love story, AmIRight? Well, that is until tensions arise and jealousy ensues.

The Kissing Booth 2 New Characters And Love Triangles And Marco
We meet two new characters in The Kissing Booth 2 who come in and only seem to cause tensions and jealousy. First there is Chloe, a fellow Harvard student with supermodel looks, who has befriended Noah at college. Not only is Chloe gorgeous but she also has become a little too chummy with Noah if you ask me. And then we have Marco, a new student at Elle’s High School and as she refers to him, “This guy is a snack indeed! Maybe and entree! Maybe he’s also the dessert too!‘
Of course we have faith in Elle and Noah’s relationship and even though Elle was heard by the entire school ranting about Marco’s looks, we know she is devoted to Noah and would not stray. That is until she finds out Noah starts lying about hanging out with Chloe and a few other tid bits that would make any woman angry and hurt. She starts confiding in Marco, which becomes obvious he has some feeling for her, and the two become close. Will Noah and Elle’s relationship last? No spoilers from me!
Elle And Lee Best Friends Forever?
And with Noah away at school, Elle begins to lean on her bestie Lee. However, this causes some relationship problems between Lee and Rachel, which by the way I think are an adorable couple! I don’t believe Rachel is jealous of Elle and Lee’s relationship per say but she does feel like a third wheel in some regards. This is apparent when the three plan a Halloween s’more’s costume where Lee and Elle are the graham crackers to Rachel’s marshmallow, but a last minute costume change idea has poor Rachel showing up to the party as just a lonely marshmallow.
Overall Thoughts
The Kissing Booth 2 was a super cute and fun follow up to the original. It not only dealt with teen relationship problems and the struggles of having a long distance relationship but also touched on the importance of communication. I believe fans of the original are going to love this sequel. My only problem with the movie is the length, it was way too long. They tried to pack alot into this sequel but a 2 hour film for teens may lose their interest fast. Overall, I think this will be another netflix teen flick, and dare I say it is better than the original? Yes, I said it!
