Netflix City of Ghosts is a new kids show that is about exactly what the title suggests, ghosts in the city! Last week I had the opportunity to interview the creator Elizabeth Ito and find out all sorts of fun facts about the new show. And because I love putting my daughter to work on making coloring pages, she loves it though, I thought I would also have her make some up in honor of the new series. Netflix’s City Of Ghosts Fun Facts
At first one may think City Of Ghosts, which discusses the paranormal, may not be appropriate for kids. In fact I wondered the same myself but after watching the series, it is in no way a “scary” show but one that is gentle and informative. The voices in the series were soft, I could easily listen to them all day and not be annoyed, which was the point says Elizabeth Ito! She wanted a show for her child that was not so “loud” and also one that could discover the cutlture in her city. - Elizabeth had a ghost encounter when she was young. After seeing a ghost in the bathroom one evening, she called for her parents who told her to go back to bed. The next morning she found out her father had seen the ghost too!
- Elizabeth created the show to appreciate the stories and cultures of each neighborhood, as she also wanted to share her own multicultural neighborhood in LA.
- Elizabeth Ito wants the message of “the importance of listening to kids” to resonate when watching the series.

City Of Ghosts Synopsis
Featuring a charming blend of animated characters and live-action settings, City of Ghosts is a documentary-style series about a group of ghost-loving kids in Los Angeles who learn about the rich history of their city through encounters with friendly neighborhood ghosts. In each episode — which is based on and voiced by real residents from different neighborhoods — the members of The Ghost Club help others learn to inhabit the present by communicating with the ghosts of the past.
