TED Series Age Rating Parents Guide

Let’s take a look at what concerned parents need to know about the age ratings of the series before letting their younger children watch Peacock’s ted series.

LanguagePeacock’s ted series contains some strong language, with profanity used throughout. Stronger words include f*ck, sh*t, b*tch, c*ck, a**h*le, d*ck, d*mn, g-d d*mn, hell, queer, m*dget, balls, pollock, and phrases like “Jesus Christ” and “jerk off.”

Mature Content: The biggest lookout in the series, other than the stronger language, is the crude sexual content and drug use and drug abuse. Throughout the series, high schoolers are partaking in drugs, smoking pot in almost every episode, selling drugs, talking about being on cocaine, and more. There are also many sexual references and adult themes, much of which is revealed in a very crude manner. The characters discuss orgasms, take a sex education class where medical photos of male and female sex organs are shown, a drawing of a naked woman is shown, and there is discussion of her “busy,” and an entire episode revolves around getting a 16-year-old boy to lose his virginity. There is also some violence; the teddy bear is shown with a gun, and there is constant bullying, which can be very triggering to some viewers.

Age Rating of the Series Peacock’s ted: Peacock’s ted series rating has a TV-MA rating by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA ratings) for crude and sexual content, pervasive language, and some drug use, and the parental guidelines advisory recommends it for mature audiences, an older audience, an adult audience, young viewers, young adults, little kids, older kids, and teens aged 17 years and older. The suggestion of parental guidance or a legal guardian (adult guardian) for this restricted TV-MA category is highly suggested for young children, teenage children, and young kids under 17 years of age in this TV-MA-rated motion picture for adult material. The minimum age recommendation is 17 years old.

Overall Thoughts

Peacock’s Ted series can be seen as a “cousin” of Family Guy with its familiar brand of humor and MacFarlane’s creative touch. However, it maintains its own distinct identity with a different format, setting, and focus. Whether you enjoy Ted will likely depend on your specific preferences for animation, tone, and character-driven narratives versus broader family dynamics.

If you loved Family Guy for its raunchy humor and outrageous characters, you’ll likely find some enjoyment in Ted. But if you prefer animated shows or are looking for something with a different brand of humor, you might not be as invested. It’s undeniably funny at times, with a heart of gold hidden beneath the raunchy exterior. However, it relies heavily on nostalgia and recycled jokes, which might not appeal to everyone. If you’re a fan of MacFarlane’s humor and the original movies, you might enjoy the show despite its flaws. But if you’re looking for something fresh and innovative, you might want to look elsewhere.
